Mercy Corps is an international relief and development organization working in over 42+ countries worldwide helping people build secure, productive and just communities. The general aim of the Mercy Corps response is to provide emergency food, NFIs, and Shelter assistance to vulnerable refugees affected through partnerships with local relief community, local businesses and technical Mercy Corps field team members.
The organizasion in Greece seeks for:
1. Operations Officer – Local hire (Kos).
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
– Minimum 3 years of experience with operations and office administration
– Computer skills are required
– MS Excel in particular
– must be an independent thinker and have strong organizational skills
– demonstrated experience scheduling and cooperating with staff from multiple departments
– Fluency in English and Greek (written and spoken).
2. Humanitarian officer Greece – National position Arabic, and/or Persian, and/or Pashtu and English required.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
– Bachelor of Science or equivalent (desirable).
– Previous experience in implementing cash /voucher programs along with food, protection and NFI programs.
– Strong ability to work independently, organize work, meet deadlines, maintain composure, prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
– Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.
– NGO experience preferred.
– Be comfortable with teamwork in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.
– Fluency in Arabic, and/or Persian, and/or Pashtu and good English required.
– Proven sense of professional discretion, integrity, and ability to work in an international environment.
